The world's motive power is still dominated by the internal combustion engine, but more and more vehicles and industrial machines are being powered by batteries every day.
In 2013 62% of new forklifts sold had internal combustion engines. Today that percentage has dropped to 49%.
And automotive lithium-ion battery demand increased by about 65% to 550 GWh in 2022, from about 330 GWh in 2021.
Machine Maxx USA is a big proponent of electric forklifts. Manufacturers continue to improve electric forklift performance and usability and as more new forklifts are sold with lithium-ion batteries it will make broader adoption easier.
